Twilight's Ecstacy: by Dana LaPlant
Somewhere beyond here
an ebony sky is forming,
And the ivory stars
come out to illuminate the silences.
Somewhere beyond here
The gold sun is glistening,
And a sapphire sky
is turning silver.
Somewhere beyond here
a valley of emerald green grass is growing,
And the almond sand of the beach
is drifting away.
Somewhere beyond here
the chaotic world is sleeping,
And the lustrous moonlight
burns through the darkest time of night.
I read this poem for the first time in the 2005 poetry book published by the University of Findlay's English Department. I was really impressed, her style of poetry was very rich, illustrious, and hopeful. I like it :)
